What you will see in the Maritim Museum
The Maritime Museum of Barcelona and its exhibitions invite you to discover the history of navigation and the most prominent ships along with various objects that were used in the trip, such as atlases, nautical charts, navigation instruments, weapons, documents, items to load and unload merchandise and more.
The boats have served people to travel, trade, fight and many other maritime adventures. For those who love sailing, boats are machines but they have their own identity, also a name and style. The ship is a transport but at the same time it is a box of things and individuals, but also of experiences and myths, which encourages the revelation of the hidden.
The Museum itself is listed as a historical monument, and it was the old shipyards where the ships were repaired and built. Since 2006 it has been declared a Museum of National Interest.
